Finalizing metadata records for ScienceBase data release

How to add a DOI URL into CSDGM metadata:

1. If you open the metadata file in a text editor to directly edit the XML

2. If you are using the Online Metadata Editor

In the "Distribution Information" tab, click the "USGS Active Directory Lookup Tool" button and search for "GS ScienceBase". Click "Select", then "Submit". This will autopopulate the contact information for ScienceBase.

To enter a URL in the "network resource" field of the distribution section, select "Yes" to answer the question "Are there additional services, formats, or methods etc." The relevant field is marked by an arrow in the screenshot below.
