The datasets consist of principal fact information of gravity data and density and magnetic properties of hand samples in the Chico and Willows 1:100,000-scale quadrangles, California.

This data release contains principal facts of gravity measurements collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in 2013-2022, a compilation of existing and new density and magnetic susceptibility data, horizontal gradient maxima derived from gravity and magnetic potential fields, and depth of Cenozoic basin fill in the Hayfork basin from inversion of gravity data of the southern Klamath Mountains, California. These data support modeling of gravity and magnetic anomalies to understand the structure beneath the southern Klamath Mountains..

This data release presents point data associated with the geologic and geophysical maps of the Sierra Nevada Digital Earth Science Atlas led by the California Geological Survey and U.S. Geological Survey. Data include principal fact information for new gravity measurements collected by the U.S. Geological Survey from 2012 to 2023 and for existing gravity measurements compiled from 21 sources. Nearly 29,000 gravity measurements were processed to complete Bouguer and isostatic gravity anomalies to provide information on crustal structure, such as depth extent of plutons and arc terranes, and geometry of Cenozoic basins developed along the margins of the Sierra Nevada. Density and magnetic property measurements were...

This data release presents point data associated with the geologic and geophysical maps of the Stockton 30 x 60 minute quadrangle, California. Data include principal fact information for new gravity measurements collected by the U.S. Geological Survey from 2015 to 2018 and for existing gravity data. Gravity and magnetic gradients were also calculated in the Stockton 30 x 60 minute quadrangle, California. The gravity data have been processed to isostatic residual gravity anomalies that reflect crustal density variations. Maximum horizontal gradients were calculated from gravity and magnetic potential grids of the Stockton quadrangle to map out structures that juxtapose rocks of differing density and magnetization,...

This data release contains digital data generated by the U.S. Geological Survey under cooperative agreements with Sonoma County Water Agency and the California State Water Resources Control Board to characterize the three-dimensional hydrogeology and water quality of the Russian River Watershed, located in the northern part of the California Coast Ranges section of the Pacific Border province. This dataset contains borehole lithologic and hydrologic data, geospatial data of a three-dimensional hydrogeologic framework model (3D HFM), and gravity data used to support development of the framework model. The borehole dataset is released as a series of .csv ascii files including (1) individual borehole location and construction...
ScienceBase brings together the best information it can find about USGS researchers and offices to show connections to publications, projects, and data. We are still working to improve this process and information is by no means complete. If you don't see everything you know is associated with you, a colleague, or your office, please be patient while we work to connect the dots. Feel free to contact sciencebase@usgs.gov.
