INTRODUCTION This summary of Alaska’s mineral industry activity for 2001 is made possible by information provided through phone interviews and replies to questionnaires mailed by the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys. The final report will be available later in the year after further compilation of information, particularly placer mining and industrial mineral data.
