Global Mineral Resource Assessment: Summary simulation results for estimates of amounts of copper in undiscovered porphyry copper deposits In response to the growing demand for information on the global mineral-resource base, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) completed assessments for undiscovered resources of selected types of mineral deposits (https://minerals.usgs.gov/global). This data release tabulates data for simulations of amounts of copper resources in undiscovered porphyry copper deposits that were done for the Global Mineral Resource Assessment. For this assessment, 163 areas (permissive tracts) in 7 regions of the world that may contain porphyry copper deposits that had sufficient information to make a quantitative assessment of undiscovered copper resources were considered. Summary statistics by region This dataset tabulates summary statistics for estimates of amounts of copper in undiscovered porphyry copper deposits by world region and for the globe. Data re reported by region, by aggregation method (randomized and sorted), and by selected statistics. These include quantiles, means, standard deviations, standard error of the mean , and Upper and Lower 95% of the mean. Simulation results_sorted.csv This dataset tabulates sorted simulation results for amounts of copper in metric tons. The data are output from the EMINERS computer program (Duval, J.S., 2012, Version 3.0 of EMINERS—Economic Mineral Resource Simulator: U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 2004–1344, http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2004/1344) that were copied into a worksheet.
