The tourism industry represents one of the largest and fastest growing activities in Grand County, Utah. The explosive growth in tourism has led to rapid population growth and economic change in Grand County. Recreational uses are often in conflict with traditional use activities such as grazing and mining. Impacts from all these land uses are contributing to the deterioration of the region's sensitive natural resources, especially in areas where such uses are concentrated. This thesis estimates the economic impacts of the current and projected visitation levels on the Grand County economy.
