Sand and Gravel Ratio Study

Summary

A statewide investigation of the sand and gravel resources from active or abandoned gravel pits in 1956. Each data sheet recorded the location, coordinates, tons mined, geologic interpretation of the sand and gravel deposit, and a quality assessment of the material mined. Deleterious constituents were noted and relative amounts of these were reported. Also, the angularity of the samples was noted. These reports are available for public inspection by appointment only at the Survey¿s Horace R. Collins Laboratory.
