New Jersey Geological Survey Vibracore 108

Summary

Starting in 1994, New Jersey Geological Survey drilled these vibracores in support of NJDEP beach nourishment projects and offshore geologic studies. These vibracores serve as ground-truth for marine seismic data; characterization of specific sand; or correlations. NJGS retains both the sampled and archive halves of the core in 5-ft lengths. This core was collected in Offshore Study Area K
