Coastal Engineering Research Center (CERC) core samples
Summary
A total of 58 vibracores, with a maximum length of 6.1 meters were taken in southern Lake Erie between Conneaut and Marblehead, Ohio as part of a sand resource study conducted in the late 1970¿s. The study area generally ranged from the -7.5 m to ¿ 14 meter depth contour and cores were bored from 1 to 16 kilometers offshore. The inventory provided details concerning number of samples, boring sample depth, sample weight, and miscellaneous notes detailing analyses performed for each sample, lithologic descriptions, modern organism or fossil content, and other notes. See Williams, S. J., Carter, C. H., Meisburger, E. P., and Fuller, J. A., 1980, Sand Resources of southern Lake Erie, Conneaut to Toledo, Ohio-A seismic reflection and vibracore [...]
