Reproductive Health: Maternal Risks - Multiple Gestation, 1995-1999

Summary

This data set reports the percentage of women in the United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, who gave birth to live infants where the gestation included two or more fetuses. The 1995-1999 rates are for six demographic groups: American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian or Pacific Islander, Black or African American, White, Hispanic or Latino, and all groups combined. Statistics for counties, States, and the nation are included. The national statistics were calculated from data for the fifty States, the District of Columbia and five U.S. dependent areas (American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands).
