This schools dataset is composed of all Public elementary and secondary education in the United States as defined by the Common Core of Data, National Center for Education Statistics, US Department of Education. This includes all Kindergarten through 12th grade schools as tracked by the Common Core of Data. It also includes a list of 140 schools abroad which are tied to Armed Forces America, Armed Forces Pacific, or Armed Forces Atlantic. This particular subset of data records has yet to be geocoded or validated (e.g., Lat/Lon= 0,0), but these improvements will be incorporated into future data maintenance & enhancement efforts. Overall, there is full public school coverage for all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and the Northern Marianas.
