The collection consists of sample location information and laboratory geochemical characterization of Virginia's carbonate rocks. Laboratory analytical data includes major and minor constituents, and trace element analyses, reflectance and chlorine content analyses on a selected subset of the samples. This data is available for study by scientists, citizens, government agencies, and by industry. DGMR maintains this collection to support the wise use of Virginia's resources by providing quality geologic and mineral resource information.
