The USGS Modeling of Watershed Systems (MoWS) team has developed a National Hydrologic Modeling Framework, which is built on a Geospatial Fabric (GF). The GF is composed of GIS features such as points of interest (POIs), stream segments, and hydrologic responses units (HRUs). Summary
The GF is derived for the United States using automated software and the NHDPlus data set. The derived data are organized into the spatial Regions defined by the NHDPlus tiling scheme.
In some cases, particularly with regard to routing, users have offered corrections to the derived parameters. If accepted by the MoWS team, the corrected values are published here. The current ScienceBase item provides one or more files, each of which lists any corrections for a one parameter. Each row within a file identifies the POI associated with a spatial feature in the GF, the spatial feature itself, the old parameter value, the new parameter value, and an optional comment in a tab-delimited ASCII format. The file names follow the convention of <Region_identifier>_<parameter_name>_corrections.txt.
Any corrections provided here are automatically applied by the parameterization software. Human readers may want to browse these corrections to gain understanding of the overall data quality or to check the history of specific parameter values.
