Summary

Alaska Earthquake March 27, 1964. This railroad bridge on the Kenai Peninsula was strongly compressed by channelward movement of the stream banks during the earthquake. The bridge buckled vertically, producing a sharp hump in the roadbed and lifting some of the bridge piling with it.
