Summary

Album caption: Panorama with images 787, 788, and 790. Cut on C.M. & St. P. Railway, three miles southwest of Rhodes, at east limit of Wisconsin drift of Des Moines lobe. 1. Wisconsin till (man standing at base) 0-25 feet; 2. Buff loess with irregular, ferruginous, cemented layer running through part of it. Abundant lime concretions 0-15 feet; 3. Gray calcareous loess 0-15 feet; 4. Non-calcareous gray "gumbo" clay with some small pebbles 7-8 feet; 5. Oxidized yellow Kansan till 5-8 feet. Eden Township, NW1/4, Sec. 19, T. 82 N., R. 20 W. Marshall County, Iowa. July 1, 1914.
