View of road cut one mile southwest of White House, N.J., showing pre-Wisconsin brown glacial till (0-10 feet), above the line of pebble markers at which Dr. Kummel stands, overlying Triassic red shale. The drift remains only on top of the ridge and is cut away by the eroded slope at the left and from the surrounding lower ground. Cushetunk Mountain in background. Raritan quadrangle. Hunterdon County, New Jersey. May 25, 1916.
