Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, Alaska. Charpentier Glacier. The tidal cliff of the glacier is concealed on the right. The low dark ridge lying next to the glacier is a mass of ice covered by moraine material. Twenty years earlier it was part of the glacier, but is now separating and slowly wasting. Harriman Expedition, June 11, 1899.
