Album caption and index card: Conglomerate in Thunderhead Sandstone. Quartzite-pebble conglomerate; larger pebbles are quartzite and quartz; smaller one are microcline; a few pebbles are granite. Altitude is 3,540 feet on the trail from Porters Flat to Trillium Gap. Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Sevier County, Tennessee. Circa 1950. Published as Figure 19-B, U.S. Geological Survey Professional paper 349-B.
