Castle Rock, in Boulder Canyon. Five miles below Middle Boulder, near the head of the canyon. It is a solid mass of granite, standing out detached from the walls of the canyon, the granite, standing out detached from the walls of the canyon, the river describing a half circle about it, sweeping close to its base. It is conical in form, rising to a height of about 250 feet, and is often call Hay-Stack Rock. Boulder County, Colorado. 1873.
