Summary

Close folding in massive Blue dolomite along the Nolichucky River northeast of Embreeville, the great compression during folding is shown by the thinning of the darker lower layers on the steeply upturned side of the fold. Incipient flat sheer faults, similar to larger faults in this vicinity are seen near base of the fold. Washington County, Tennessee. 1897. Figure 9 in U.S. Geological Survey. Folio 151. 1907.
