Summary
Dakota hogback 3 miles south of Golden, showing fire clay 8 feet thick, plant bearing sandstone, 8 feet, fire clay 15 feet, plant bearing sandstone and shale. On the slope to the right are variegated beds correlated with the lower shale of the Dakota group at Bellvue and conglomeratic sandstone, which probably represents the lower sandstone of that section. The beds in the foreground are offset a few feet to the left by faulting, and at the crest of the ridge faulting duplicates them. Jefferson County, Colorado. 1922.
