Summary

Aerial view looking south-southwest across Allens Park from an altitude of 14,800 feet about 5 miles east of Longs Peak. The rugged topography characteristic of the Continental Divide is shown in the background and the transition from the high glaciated country near the middle of the range to the bench like erosion surfaces that border it is shown in the foreground. This transition zone almost coincides with the lower limit of glaciation. Colorado. Circa 1932. Figure 3 with sketch, in U.S.Geological Survey Professional paper 223. 1950.
