Aerial view looking southwest across Overland Mountain toward James Peak from an altitude of 9,300 feet near Jamestown; shows type locality of the Overland Mountain erosion surface and the transition belt were it merges with the higher erosion surfaces near the crest of the range. The dumps in the left middle ground are those of the John Jay mine. Colorado. Circa 1932. Figure 2 with sketch, in U.S.Geological Survey Professional paper 223. 1950.
