Summary

Conical buttes of igneous rocks, this represents on of the most typical of the volcanic plugs of the district. It consists of a cylindrical mass of basalt occupying the vent of an extinct volcano and is surrounded by a accumulation of basalt talus. The butte is situated one mile north of Adair station, on the Colorado and Southern Railroad. Las Animas County, Colorado. 1898. Figure 3 in U.S. Geological Survey Folio 58. 1899.
