Detroit River dolomite temporarily exposed in bed of Detroit River near Stony Island during excavation of Livingstone Channel, show rock surface smoothed and grooved by the Illinoian ice sheet. Grooves in the rock surface are shown by dark streaks of soil and gravel in the foreground. Illinoian till covers rock surface in the cut, beneath the dump. Wayne County, Michigan. 1916.
