Confluence of Tanana River (shown in picture_ and Delta River to left of photo below Richardson Highway bridge over Tanana River near Big Delta. Tanana superimposed on bedrock spur of Burch Creek schist (Precambrian). River open at this point nearly all winter. Air temperature -40 degrees Fahrenheit. Flow of Tanana about 5,000-cubic feet-per-second. Yukon region, Alaska. February 7, 1950.
