Summary

Area in center is toe of slide that has been made into earth-filled dam. New layer of dirt is being added along downstream side of dam. Note beginning of tunnel for Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad along left edge of photo. Ridge west of slide is composed of tilted beds of the Nugget sandstone and the Twin Creek limestone. Small amounts of Ankareh Formation are exposed beneath the Nugget. Thistle slide of April 1983. Utah County, Utah. Spring 1983.
