Collection includes rock cuttings (drill cuttings) from Michigan oil, gas, mineral and waters wells collected by the Michigan Geological Survey and archived at the Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education, Department of Geosciences, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo Michigan. Cuttings representative of 13,440 Michigan oil, gas and mineral wells, archived in individual envelopes and/or vials in cardboard boxes.

Purpose
