Summary

Industrial mineral site no. 1425, known as "Scheel (part of the Bacon Creek deposit)" is a site in Skagit County, Washington. This site has been associated with massive quartz. A notation found in DGER Bulletin 37 on page 92 says "Quartz vein. A composite sample, from a 300-ton block, contained 99.0 percent silica, 0.47 percent ferric oxide, and 0.4 percent alumina. Clear fusion at cone 32", and designates the value as "Was sold in 1942, after crushing, as pulpstone and, after grinding, for molding sand and glass sand ".
