Industrial mineral site no. 44, known as "Alta Lake" is a site in Okanogan County, Washington. This site has been associated with asbestiform materials. A notation found in DGER Bulletin 37 on page 8 says "Large lenses of short-fiber amphibole asbestos", and designates the value as "Was formerly mined and shipped to Asbestomine Co. in Wenatchee, where it was used in the manufacture of cold-water paint".
