Purpose

1) Synthesize existing information on the carbon implications of alternative management strategies for tanoak; 2) Validate the site-specific application of existing regional allometric equations for above-ground biomass and carbon estimation used in corporate stand development simulation models such as FVS; and 3) Develop, model and assess the productivity and carbon implications of stand level management options for forests of the tanoak series.
