Open File Reports consist of maps and text which have not gone through a complete editorial review process. Most recent (1996-present) Survey publications are produced as Open File Reports and published on-line rather than as paper copy. Scales range from 1:100,000 - 1:12,000. Most open file reports are also available as shapefiles and/or geodatabase files.
