Summary

Explanation: Using National Elevation Dataset (NED) information, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) researchers can quickly depict elevation zones and various geomorphic features. Automated processes have been developed which allow such representations to be generated for large areas with a minimum of human labor and interaction required. This poster of Colorado shows the surface expression color-shaded by the given elevation ranges and augmented by anaglyphic offsets to produce three-dimensional perception. Selected map features and text enhance this base data. Colorado is the eighth largest state in land area, and with an average elevation of 6,750 feet, has the highest overall elevation of the 50 states. Procedures used: The [...]
