"FY 2013-14 Digital Aerial Imagery (412774) Six Inch Orthophotos of Pinellas County. Provide new high resolution 6" pixel four band stack RGBI digital orthophotos of approximately 477sq. miles in PInellas Co, FL. New aerial digital photography will be taken with a Vexcel UltraCam Eagle digital aerial sensor using 60% forward and 40% sidelap producing a 5.2 inch raw pixel while covering 528 5000ft. x 5000ft. SWFWMD cells. Flights are to begin Dec 1, 2013 and be completed by Feb. 28th, 2014. Photography must be taken during 30 degree sun angle and be free of smoke and clouds. "The County regularly uses digital orthophotos to support regulatory, land management and acquisition, planning, engineering and habitat restoration projects." A digital orthoimage is a geometrically accurate photographic record of landscape conditions at the time of the corresponding aerial photography. As such, High Resolution Orthoimagery is useful for a variety of applications, such as environmental monitoring, facility engineering/maintenance, city/county planning, property line review, etc. The digital orthoimage can be used alone or as a raster basemap for corresponding vector line mapping. The detailed focus of High Resolution Orthoimagery provides emergency responders critical information in determining the best evacuation routes, alternative routes and safe access to aid. High Resolution Orthoimagery assists law enforcement personnel in determining the best locations to place surveillance cameras in high-traffic urban areas and popular attractions. The data assists Federal, State and local emergency responders in planning for homeland security efforts. This data also supports The National Map.
