PURPOSE: The amendment of the Alaska Coastal Management Plan (CMP is proposed. Between 2003 and 2005, the state of Alaska adopted legislation and regulations that made revisions to its federally approved CMP. The state adopted the amendments to improve its consistency review process both in timing and predictability, thereby reducing duplication of permit review with broadly defined state standards and providing certainty for private capital commitments.
