Summary

Index No. MRTN100790; Nolan Collection; Location taken from Tonopah Extension Mine shaft; Yellow, thin-bedded,pyritic rock that appears to be a hypocrystalline flow. It shows good flow lines and much of the material appears to be glass. Weakly anisotropic parallel to flow lines. In possible zones of greater permeability there are aggregates and bands of rather fine-grained quartz, with very little adularia. Rectangular areas that appear to have been feldspars are also altered to quartz aggregates, an it is associated in coarse grains with pyrite cubes. Tiny grains of rutile (?), apatite and zircon occur throughout the section.; Collector: Thomas B. Nolan
