Summary

This dataset includes tables with physical information and isotopic data that are used to calculate uranium-series ages (230Th/U method) and initial 234U/238U activity ratios on a suite of mastodon bones from the Cerutti Mastodon site near San Diego, CA area.

Purpose

This dataset accompanies the paper 'A 130,000-year-old archaeological site in southern California, U.S.A', published in the scientific journal, Nature. Data were obtained to determine minimum ages for death and burial of mastodon bones that show evidence that site was used to process bone material by paleolithic humans.
