Summary

An outcrop of the Lower and Upper Mercer limestone of the Pottsville Group along the east side of Interstate 77 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. This area has shale, siltstone, sandstone, conglomerate, limestone and coal lithologies. Bedrock is from the Pennsylvanian Geologic Period. The photograph was taken by Michael C. Hansen in 1974. The location given is approximate based on comparison of where the Lower and Upper Mercer limestone intersect Interstate 77.
