An outcrop of the Allegheny Group in the highwall at a strip mine near Athens, Athens County, Ohio. This area has shale, siltstone, sandstone, conglomerate, limestone, coal, clay and flint lithologies. Bedrock is from the Pennsylvanian Geologic Period.
