Summary
In order to synthesize and disseminate the information developed from the Colorado Plateau Rapic Ecoregional Assessment (CPREA) (as well as data generated by the Southern Rockies Landscape Conservation Cooperative (SRLCC) and its partners) to support the broader community of resource managers, there is a core capacity need for data analysis, visualization, decision support derivatives, and delivery of said science. Through efforts to develop the Opportunities and Challenges Report, it has become evident that managers in the field need to have a resource they can go to for assistance in interpreting the CPREA data and models, as well as data from other landscape-scale conservation efforts. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Utah Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit (UTCFWRU) and SRLCC resources are being leveraged in order to meet this capacity need through establishment of extension education and decision support in the form of a Post Doc position and undergraduate technical and GIS support.
