Summary

This dataset contains elevation and pebble count data for 5 new sites located at streamflow-gaging stations in the glaciated setting of Pennsylvania and southern New York. Sites were surveyed in 2016 and the elevation data represent topographic features (bankfull, thalweg, etc.) along longitudinal and cross sectional areas of stream reaches. The pebble counts were collected within each cross section. Drainage areas from StreamStats for 70 streamflow-gaging stations in Pennsylvania are also provided.

Purpose

This dataset's purpose is to be used for the development of bankfull discharge and geometry estimates that will provide additional new data to previous published datasets for the glaciated regions of Pennsylvania and Southern New York. The regional relations of bankfull discharge and channel dimensions with drainage area for the glaciated settings of Pennsylvania and southern New York are compared with relations for the unglaciated setting of Pennsylvania.
