Chile, Iquique: 2008-2020

The Iquique cluster is named for the city of Iquique on the coast of northern Chile. It consists of events since 2008, when data from local seismograph stations became available, and mainly of events on shore or no more than about 20 km off-shore, to ensure good depth control and a balanced azimuthal coverage for calibration. Two large events, an 8.2 Mw event on April 1, 2014 and a 7.7 Mw event on April 3, 2014 are included. All events have depth control from near-source or local distance readings and 20 events have depth estimates from teleseismic depth phases which are generally consistent.
