Summary

These datasets include occurrence points and trait data for freshwater fishes, amphibians, and reptiles native to Oregon State. Occurrence data were extracted from the VertNet database and include points within Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, as well as points found within ecoregions that overlap with Oregon state (U.S. EPA Level III EcoRegions). Occurrence points include records from years 1930-2002, and only records with associated museum voucher specimens were included. Database was updated to include one record per species, per year, at a given location. Records were evaluated by taxonomic experts for each species, and suspicious records were either verified or excluded. Trait data were gathered from published and openly available [...]

Purpose

Occupancy data were collected to assemble a database of occupancy records from verified museum specimens for ectothermic vertebrate species native to the state of Oregon, and were used to calculate comparable area of occupancy measures for multiple species. These data are opportunistic in nature and were not systematically collected; thus, the nature of the dataset must be considered for future use. Trait data were collected to assemble a database of life history traits to complement datasets of occupancy records, and were used to compare life history strategies with area of occupancy measures.
