Stratigraphy includes red and white strata of Supai Group (upper right edge of photograph), Surprise Canyon Formation (small red cliff), Redwall Limestone (large gray cliff), Temple Butte Formation (dark-gray ledges), Cambrian unclassified dolomites (reddish-gray cliff), and Muav Limestone (dark-gray cliffs and slopes at bottom of canyon).
