Abstract: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is committed to landscape-scale conservation to accomplish its mission. The Southeast Conservation Adaptation Strategy (SECAS) is a state-led collaborative initiative focused on sustaining thriving fish and wildlife populations in the Southeastern US and Caribbean. Through participation in the SECAS, the FWS advances the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) priorities to use the best available science to manage land and water resources, revise and streamline regulatory processes, and cultivate strong relationships with state natural resource offices, state fish and wildlife agencies, water authorities, county commissions, Tribes, and local communities.
