The Habitat Condition Index for aquatic ecosystems is based on contributing watershed and local catchment condition indicators calculated for stream segments and applied to floodplain cells as defined by the EPA Estimated Floodplain dataset. Index Values range from 0 (uplands) to 12 (good local conditions in relatively undisturbed watersheds). Condition Index (CI) values are grouped into 5 classes: 0 = Uplands (CI = 0) 1 = Very poor watershed & local conditions (CI = 1) 2 = Poor Watershed Conditions with relatively good Local Conditions (CI = 2-3) 3 = Watersheds with some disturbances (CI = 4-9) 4 = Intact Aquatic Networks (CI = 10-12) *Indicates this dataset continued to be used in Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020.
