Azerbaijan, Ganja: 2006-2019

The Ganja cluster is named for the city of Ganja in western Azerbaijan. The cluster includes several events in neighboring Armenia, around Sevan Lake. Seismograph stations are densely distributed in the source region for about the last 15 years but ealier events could not be reliably included because of poor connectivity (observations at common stations) with recent ones. Calibration was somewhat complicated by the unusually large range of focal depths, from 8 to 36 km. All events in the cluster have constraint for the focal depth from arrival time data at near-source or local distance range, and several have teleseismic depth phase readings that are consistent with those depths.
