Summary

Ratings are used for a variety of reasons in water-resources investigations. The simplest rating relates discharge to the stage of the river. From a pure hydrodynamics perspective, all rivers and streams have some form of hysteresis in the relation between stage and discharge because of unsteady flow as a flood wave passes. Simple ratings are unable to represent hysteresis in a stage/discharge relation. A dynamic rating method is capable of capturing hysteresis owing to the variable energy slope caused by unsteady momentum and pressure. Purpose

This data release provides 34 site datasets used for testing in the DYNRAT model. The site folders contain the cross-section geometry in CSV format, as well as the intermediary files used for delineation of the geometry. Two ArcGIS shapefiles are included; one with the site location and one with the upstream and downstream reach points used to calculate bed slope. The file called 'bed_slope.txt' contains bed slope calculations for all sites. The file called 'master_site_list.txt' contains a list of all sites analyzed in this study.
