Fram, M.S., 2020, Pesticide constituent data from the California Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment Program Priority Basin Project (GAMA-PBP), August 2013 - May 2018, schedule 2437 constituents: U.S. Geological Survey data release, https://doi.org/10.5066/P9IYH6ZY.

Summary

This Data release presents results for pesticide constituents in 460 samples collected from domestic and public-supply wells in August 2013-May 2018 for the California Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment Program Priority Basin Project (GAMA-PBP). The samples were analyzed for 225 pesticide constituents on USGS National Water Quality Laboratory analytical schedule 2437. Results from quality-control samples collected with the environmental samples and results from laboratory quality-control samples were used to re-process the data to meet project data-quality objectives. The data release includes the final approved results tabulated by result and by sample, the original and final values for results affected by the quality-control [...]

Purpose

The data were collected as part of groundwater quality assessments done by the California Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment Program Priority Basin Project (GAMA-PBP). The GAMA-PBP is a cooperative project between the U.S. Geological Survey and the California State Water Resources Control Board. The purposes of the GAMA-PBP are to assess the quality groundwater resources used for drinking water supplies in California and understand the processes affecting that quality, to monitor and predict trends in groundwater quality, and to improve the availability of data and information about groundwater quality in California. The final approved results for pesticide constituents presented in this Data Release meet the GAMA-PBP data quality objectives and are considered representative of groundwater quality conditions seen by the domestic and public-supply wells sampled for the GAMA-PBP studies. This data set includes results for samples from domestic wells in six areas of California (Madera, Chowchilla, and Kings subbasins of the San Joaquin Valley; Tule, Tulare Lake, and Kaweah subbasins of the San Joaquin Valley and adjacent area of the Sierra Nevada; Yuba and Bear River Watersheds in the Sierra Nevada; Mokelumne, Cosumnes, and American River Watersheds in the Sierra Nevada; North and South American subbasins of the Sacramento Valley and Cosumnes subbasin of the San Joaquin Valley; and Mojave Basins) and from public-supply wells in three areas of California (the San Diego region, the southern Sacramento Valley, and the northern San Joaquin Valley).
