Summary
The dataset contains GPS survey data from two surveys conducted after a flow event on February 15, 2019, at the USGS continuous slope-area (CSA) gage 09484201 - Bear Creek above Bear Canyon Road, near Tucson, AZ. The CSA gage is located downstream from Pima County Regional Flood Control District ALERT gage 2184 - Bear Canyon Wash near Bear Canyon Rd. The first survey, on February 19, 2019, documents cross section geometry and high-water marks from the flow event and sensor locations in the CSA reach, as well as one high-water mark, a USGS bench mark, and the ALERT sensor at the ALERT gage. The second survey, on May 17, 2019, documents cross section geometry, an additional high-water mark, and the ALERT sensor at the ALERT gage. The [...]

Purpose
Gage height and discharge data are collected at Pima County Regional Flood Control District ALERT gage 2184 - Bear Canyon Wash near Bear Canyon Rd. Continuous slope-area (CSA) sensors collect stage data in the reach downstream from ALERT gage 2184. CSA gage 09484201 - Bear Creek above Bear Canyon Road, near Tucson, AZ, is instrumented with CSA sensors at four cross sections. The CSA reach was installed to measure peak discharge for stage-discharge rating development for ALERT gage 2184. The CSA sensors were installed on June 1, 2018. A flow event occurred on February 15, 2019. A GPS survey was conducted on February 19, 2019, to document cross section geometry and high-water marks from the flow event and sensor locations in the CSA reach, as well as one high-water mark, a USGS bench mark, and the ALERT sensor at the ALERT gage. A second GPS survey was conducted on May 17, 2019, to document cross section geometry, an additional high-water mark, and the ALERT sensor at the ALERT gage.
