Index No: MRTN102700; Collected By: Thomas B. Nolan; Sample Type: hand sample; thin section; Notes: Location taken from West End Mine shaft; Coarse breccia with fragments up to 2 cm very numerous. Inclusions of dark shaly (?) material and purplish and greenish andesite. The matrix is difficult to distinguish, but is probably a fine-grained, somewhat pinkish character and may have primary quartz. It is almost a glassy, flow rock. In the crystalline matrix of pale brown color are phenocrysts of sanidine, quartz and albite. Not much alteration but a few cubes of partly oxidized pyrite.
